The CAN Diagnostic Kit includes the CAN-Explorer 5 Software, CAN USB Adapter, CAN Cable, CAN T Adapter, and CAN Terminator at a reduced kit price.
The CAN-Explorer 5 is a universal CANbus monitor for monitoring data traffic on a CAN network. Create your own "symbols" for quick and easy identification of individual messages. The integrated VBScript support allows the creation of user macros to automate complex tasks. Function keys can also be defined to send custom user messages. The integrated data logger allows the data traffic of the CAN bus to be recorded, analyzed and stored. CAN-Explorer is designed as automation server and can therefore be controlled remotely through scripts. Works with Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista (PCAN-Explorer 5, MPN IPES-005028) Display received messages showing the ID, length, data bytes, number of messages received and receiving interval
Simultaneous hexadecimal and symbolic representation of the message data
Display remote frames, status reports of the CAN controller and optionally CAN-bus error frames.
Log time-outs
Send messages at fixed intervals of time, manually or as reply to remote frames
Emulate CAN nodes (create a list of messages to send, store and load as desired)
Periodic sending with up to 1 ms precision
Clearly Display CAN networks, symbols, macros in a structured manner using the Item Browser
Easy creation of symbol files and macros using the integrated text editor with syntax highlighting
User-friendly real-time monitoring of several signals via the watch window
Version 4 features extensive improvements to user prompting and user interface
Simple integration of external tools
Optional Plug-Ins are available to increase functionality
Supports Windows® Vista
Data Logging Features:
Variable buffer size
Optional linear buffer or circular buffer
Representation of the logged messages with time stamp, type, ID, length and data bytes
Logging of errors which have occurred is possible
Flexible storage possibility for the logged data in text form for importing into Excel or similar
Filtering of the messages for logging through symbol definitions
Subsequent examination of the logged data in the buffer via different symbol files

Scripting Features:
Create macros in VBScript using the integrated text editor
Use macros and scripts to access almost all program elements via the PCAN-Explorer object model
Ideal for creating test tools to implement or develop CAN systems
Example scripts provided: sending of e-mails when a temperature is exceeded, starting of a test tool when a particular message is received, opening of an Excel sheet when an event occurs and saving of data in individual cells
Assignment of function keys with individual send messages or macros
VBS scripts run in the background even without the PCAN-Explorer interface

Symbol Editor Features:
Easy creation of symbol files (a "symbol" is a named CAN message)
Symbolic representation of CAN messages through the assigning of alphanumeric names
Bit-exact division of the data into variables for assigning name, data type, list of values, scaling, Offset etc.
Supports data processing in accordance with IEEE 754 as well as in the Intel and Motorola format
The Item Navigator and the search function allow targeted access to all elements of the symbol files
Import/Export of CANdb files into the symbol data format (requires optional
CAN-DB plug-in) | | |
