Teltonika Networks has announced that the RUTX-series routers are entering end-of-life (EOL). The change is driven by Qualcomm discontinuing production of the CPU platform that powers the series, not by any issue with the RUTX hardware itself.
What this means for your network
If you have RUTX-series devices deployed today, no action is required. Your units will keep operating normally and remain covered under Teltonika's EOL support policy for years to come.
For new deployments or network expansions, we recommend moving to one of the replacement models below. They give you continued access to firmware updates, security patches, and long-term manufacturer support.
Replacement models
| RUTX model | Recommended replacement |
|---|---|
| RUTX08 | RUTM08 |
| RUTX09 | RUTM09 |
| RUTX10 | RUTM10 |
| RUTX11 | RUTM11, RUTM16, or RUTC16 |
| RUTX12 | RUTC42, RUTM52, or RUTM56 |
| RUTX14 | RUTM50 or RUTM54 |
| RUTX50 | RUTM50 or RUTC50 |
| RUTXR1 | No direct replacement |
Choosing between RUTM and RUTC
The two replacement series target different priorities. RUTC leads on throughput and Wi-Fi 6 support. RUTM offers a more competitive price point for teams that do not need the extra headroom.
| RUTM | RUTC | |
|---|---|---|
| WireGuard speed | 232 Mbps | 616 Mbps |
| OpenVPN speed | 12 Mbps | 44 Mbps |
| IPsec speed | 32 Mbps | 729 Mbps |
| Bluetooth Low Energy | No | No |
| Wi-Fi generation | 5 | 6 |
If your deployment relies on Bluetooth Low Energy, note that neither replacement series carries it — the RUTX11 was the only model in this family to support it. Talk to a Grid Connect engineer if this affects your design.
Key dates
| Milestone | Date |
|---|---|
| End of ordering | February 3, 2027 |
| End of production | August 3, 2027 |
| End of support | August 3, 2032 |
Place any remaining RUTX-series orders before February 3, 2027. After that date, only the replacement models above will be available to order.
Support timeline after end of production
Teltonika phases out support in two stages after the August 3, 2027 end-of-production date:
- August 2027 – July 2029 (0–24 months): Security and bug fixes continue as normal.
- August 2029 – July 2032 (25–60 months): Critical security updates continue, with best-effort customer support.
Support ends August 3, 2032 — a five-year window to plan hardware refreshes around your own project timelines rather than Teltonika's.
Have long-term delivery commitments?
If your contracts depend on RUTX-series availability, don't wait for your next reorder to figure out a plan. Talk to a Grid Connect engineer about migration timing, stocking options, and choosing the right RUTM or RUTC model for your application.
