Test independently
Build a mapping, load it onto a GRID45, and verify it works on your bench. No back-and-forth, no waiting.
Holiday Hours Notice: We will close at noon CT on Friday, May 22, resuming business on Tuesday, May 26. Orders placed after 11 AM CT on May 22 will be processed on May 26.

Protocol Mapper is a free, self-service tool for building and testing protocol mappings on real hardware. Configure, validate, and load a working prototype to a GRID45 from your bench — then work with Grid Connect on conformance testing when you're ready for production.
A guided interface designed around Modbus registers and EtherNet/IP assemblies — side-by-side. No hand-editing configuration files.
Set your Modbus RTU serial parameters and your EtherNet/IP presentation protocol settings on a single screen. Required fields are marked. Tooltip help is one click away on every label.
Map Modbus registers to EtherNet/IP assemblies. Pick a register type, set a starting address and length, and assign to an assembly — by dropdown or by dragging between anchor points. Offsets, sizes, and overlap checks are handled for you.
Protocol Mapper validates as you build — so the configuration that leaves your bench is the one that runs on the device.
Mappings of the same operation and register type flag a conflict the moment their address ranges overlap. New mappings auto-calculate offsets. Total size adjusts in real time as you add registers.
Pick up a mapping and drop it in a new offset position. Add and remove address gaps to customize how registers lay out across each EtherNet/IP assembly. The total size adjusts automatically.
When the configuration reads Complete, click Load. Protocol Mapper scans the local network for a compatible device and pushes the configuration. Test the prototype on your bench — and share the loaded GRID45 with your customer for their own evaluation — without waiting on Grid Connect engineering to spin up a sample.
Download or import the configuration files locally to share for evaluation. The mapping you build is a tested prototype — suitable for bench testing and customer review, but not production-ready on its own. When you're ready to move forward, hand the validated mapping to Grid Connect. We'll run conformance testing and deliver a custom part number with the production-ready configuration pre-loaded.
Sign in to save mappings to your account and pick up where you left off from any machine. Or skip the login and continue as a guest — guest configurations save in the browser they're created in.
