AKCP Battery Health Monitor Sensor (BATTMON) for sensorProbe+, 50 A CT Calibration

The AKCP Battery Health Monitor Sensor (BATTMON), calibrated for a 50 A CT, tracks DC voltage, current, and battery terminal temperature from a single compact module. Use it to spot declining battery performance before it causes a failed generator start, a dropped UPS (uninterruptible power supply) load, or an underperforming solar array.

BATTMON works with lead acid and LiPoly batteries and can monitor individual cells or complete battery banks. Voltage input covers 0–60 VDC across 3 configurable ranges (0–15 V, 0–30 V, or 0–60 V). Current is measured through an external CT (current transformer), sold separately. The standard sensor is calibrated for a 50 A CT. Voltage and current accuracy are both rated at ±0.05% of full scale.

On generators and engines, place the CT on the starter motor to track crank current, or on the alternator to track charge current. A drop in crank current over time can point to a weakening battery or a starter motor problem. On solar systems, one CT on the battery stack shows load current, and a second BATTMON with its CT on the panel output gives you charge current, battery load, cell voltage, and temperature from end to end.

The sensor connects to any AKCP sensorProbe+ base unit over standard CAT5e/6 cable, draws its power from that unit, and mounts on a DIN rail or with screws. Alerts and trend data run through your existing sensorProbe+ deployment, so you do not need a separate monitoring system.
