In-Line Power Meter - 16A

The AKCP In-Line Power Meter 16A (ILPM-16A) installs between an electrical source and a PDU or individual appliance. It measures voltage (V), current (A), active power (kW), total active energy (kWh), power factor, and leakage current at billable-grade accuracy. Alerts are sent via email or SNMP trap when configured thresholds are crossed.

Because the ILPM connects to the AKCP sensorProbe+ rather than embedding intelligence in a proprietary PDU, you can monitor standard power strips and individual devices without replacing existing hardware. The sensorProbe+ is hot-swappable, so the controller can be serviced or replaced without powering down the connected load. The ILPM also installs in-line rather than in a rack unit slot, freeing 0U space.

Up to 16 ILPM units connect to a single sensorProbe+ base unit, all monitored from a single IP address. For larger installations, AKCPro Server supports centralized management across multiple sensorProbe+ units.

Platform Compatibility

The ILPM-16A is compatible with AKCP sensorProbe+ platform units only. It connects via RJ-45 using UTP CAT5e/6 cable and draws power directly from the sensorProbe+ - no separate supply required. On the sensorProbeX+, the sensor is supported on main module sensor ports only. On first connection or after a sensorProbe+ firmware upgrade, the sensor firmware may update and the unit may not be available immediately.

Relay

An optional relay enables remote on/off switching of the connected load. The latched relay is bi-stable - it retains its state during a power loss and does not change state on restoration. Contacts are rated at 40 A.

Environmental monitoring

The Cabinet Thermal Map add-on integrates temperature sensing (ILPM-CTM) or temperature and humidity sensing (ILPM-CTHM) into the same unit, extending the sensor without requiring an additional port. Temperature range: -40°C to +75°C. Humidity range: 0–100% relative humidity.

Upgraded Plug/Outlet

The base unit ships with bare wire on both ends and can be upgraded at the time of purchase to include sockets of your choice for power in and power out.
