The WIFI300 module is a low power, fully self-contained, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi module. It is a perfect solution for developing a wide range of Wi-Fi applications. The module includes a U.FL connector for use with an external antenna or a built-in, on-board antenna. This FCC certified product is based off of the powerful, Marvell 88MW300, which enables data transfer through a wireless interface for any device with a Serial/SPI/GPIO interface.
NOTE: The WIFI300 has no firmware. Any software functions needed for a complete application can be developed with the use of the Marvell Software Development Kit (SDK) which contains some example projects. Contact Marvell to obtain this kit.
The WIFI300 is a suitable solution for any battery application requiring low power usage as it supports a wakeup-on-wireless feature. The voltage for the I/O can be adjusted to use either 1.8V, 2.5V, or 3.3V. The module can operate in Wi-Fi Direct mode or in AP+STA wireless networking mode. In addition to this, this low power module is able to provide both wireless and remote firmware upgrades, which is useful for meeting an assortment of application requirements.
With 8M bytes of Flash storage, the WIFI300 can be used with the special 88MW300 execute from Flash feature. This feature allows for support of the industry leading smart home standards including HomeKit, Weave, and others.
