Product Description

The Ixxat CANnector L & LE are powerful, configurable automotive platforms for e-mobility, automotive engineering and testing applications.  Both feature 2 LIN and 8 CAN channels, where 4 channels are CAN FD capable. Both support Industrial Ethernet and the LE version additionally includes EtherCAT support.

Other additional interfaces include:

  • 1-Ethernet (10/100 Base-T)
  • 2-Digital in/out (A/E)
  • 1-USB 2.0 device
  • 2-USB 2.0 hosts.

The L and LE versions facilitates high-speed data transfer and network integration for complex applications, especially suited for e-mobility and varied industrial projects.

These devices are easily configurable, via drag and drop, with the Windows-based Ixxat Advanced Configuration Tool (ACT). Most use cases can be solved by using ACT Freeware.

The CANnector easily integrates multiple bus systems into a single, DIN rail mountable device.  Industrial Ethernet is supported to facilitate high-speed data-transfer and network integration. This integration and compatibility is essential for e-mobility and complex industrial applications.

Optimized for automotive testing, logging and gateway operations, the CANnector streamlines data management and protocol handling.

All applications run on the device, a PC is only needed for configuration or stimulation/visualization of data, as the actual intelligence is outsourced to the embedded platform.

Galvanic isolation up to 2 kV safeguards against overvoltage and protects from potential electrical damage.

Isolation

There are 4 interface islands (X1, X2, X3, X4), each galvanically isolated from the others with up to 2 kV DC. Within each island, interfaces for CAN FD, CAN high-speed, digital I/O, and LIN are interconnected. The shielding of the cable and/or the metal collar of a D-Sub connector is directly connected to the housing.

Configuration

A Linux platform able to work standalone without any connected PC. For the standalone function a configuration is needed  that can be created and downloaded to the device via the PC based Ixxat Automotive Configuration Tool (ACT) and an USB connection.
