Product Information

Product Description

NETIO PowerPDU 4PB & 4KB are smart PDU (Power Distribution Unit) with 4 power outlets (4x IEC-320 C13). Each output can be switched on/off individually.

The metered version, 4KB, has 4 metered and switched power outlets, and 1 DI (Digital Input). This PDU measures power consumption (A, kWh, TPF, W, V, Hz).  Each output can be individually switched On/Off manually over the web, the NETIO cloud service (available with a fee), or with a Mobile App (Locally or via NETIO Cloud).  The DI (Digital Input) can control the outputs or count S0 pulses (ext. power metering).

Both PDUs can be mounted in rack cabinets – horizontally, vertically, or as a 1U device.

Open API enables integration into third-party systems using a wide range of protocols (JSON, Modbus/TCP, SNMP, MQTT, Telnet, ..).

With the NETIO Cloud service, the outputs can be controlled from anywhere. The NETIO Cloud service is provided for a fee and uses SSL security and servers in Europe.

PowerPDU 4PB

A smart PDU with LAN connectivity, PowerPDU 4PB is designed for professional use.

  • Wide operating temperature range from -20°C to +65°C in the entire current range
  • PowerUp state – the state of the outputs after the device is powered up is configurable (On/Off/Last)
  • Simple installation into a 10” or 19” cabinet as a 1U device or vertically at a side
  • ZVS – for switching an appliance on and off more frequently than a few times a day, ZVS (Zero Voltage Switching) support becomes important in the long term. ZVS makes sure that the output relay switches when the immediate voltage is zero.
  • IOC function (Independent Output Control) – states of outputs are not affected by LAN connection failures, network layer restarts, or firmware upgrades
  • The Scheduler function - time based switching

PowerPDU 4KB

Top features of the NETIO PowerPDU 4KB are

  • Configuration with a web browser allows output control, connection to NETIO Cloud, Open API communication settings, etc..
  • Each output is separately metered and can be turned off and on individually.
  • Ready-made AV drivers make it simple to connect the NETIO PDU to professional Audio/Video systems
  • With the NETIO Cloud service, the outputs can be controlled from anywhere. The NETIO Cloud service, provided for a fee, uses SSL security and servers in Europe.
  • The NETIO Mobile 2 app controls each output individually over LAN (local network).
  • The PowerUp sequence or power-up delay can be configured for each output.
  • Mechanical button (dry contact) or an external temperature sensor can be connected to the green DI input. By pressing a button or a temperature value, the defined output(s) can be switched using C&R (Condition & Rules) conditions.

Typical Applications

  • Remote restart (over the Web)
  • Energy savings
  • Switching power outputs on and off with a mobile app
  • Switching sockets on and off using the NETIO Cloud service
  • Controlling electrical sockets with a driver from multimedia applications (4PB: Neets, Crestron, Control4, CUE;  4KB: Crestron, Control4, RTI, BrightSign, ...)
  • Open API connection to open systems (Node-RED, Mikrotik, StreamPipes, HMS, ..)
  • Open API MQTT cloud connection to portal applications (4PB: DevicePilot, AWS, IBM Bluemix, MS Azure;  4KB: AWS, IBM Bluemix, MS Azure)

Open API (protocols) (M2M)

For Open API communication, one M2M protocol can be chosen from among the following:

The SNMP protocol can always be used in parallel to other APIs. Regardless of the one Open API protocol used, the PowerPDU 4PB & 4KV can be always controlled from its web interface and from the NETIO Cloud service at the same time.

AV Drivers

NETIO PowerPDU 4PB & 4KV can be easily used with most popular AV systems

  • Atlona
  • BrightSign media player (BrightAuthor]
  • Crestron (SIMPL blocks)
  • Control4
  • Cue
  • Domotz
  • ELAN
  • Elgato Stream Deck
  • HW group (Perseus platform)
  • Kramer (K-Config)
  • PIXILAB Blocks
  • LOXONE
  • RTI
  • SAVANT
  • SKAARHOJ
  • Utelogy
  • and many more

Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS)

ZVS (Zero Voltage Switching) support is important for switching devices more than several times a day. ZVS ensures switching on and off of the switching relay when the voltage passes through zero.

ZVS reduces the stress on the connected electrical appliances, increasing the lifetime in case of frequent switching of appliances with a high inrush voltage. High inrush voltage is typical for switching supplies common in IT equipment.

Electrical Metering (metering option)

Electrical measurement (accessible over the web interface as well as Open API)

  • Current [A]
  • Voltage [V]
  • Consumption [Wh]
  • Output power [W]
  • TPF (True Power Factor)
  • Frequency [Hz]
  • Phase [°]
  • Reverse Energy [Wh]
  • Measurement accuracy: better than 1%
