The PCAN-RS-232 FD is a programmable converter between RS-232 and CAN FD (compatible with classic CAN). It enables integration of machines, PLCs, sensors, and actuators with serial interfaces into CAN or CAN FD networks.
The device ships with standard firmware that forwards data between CAN FD and RS-232 in both directions. Configuration of data transfer and hardware settings is done via serial control commands. The source code for the default firmware is included as a reference.
NOTE: PEAK CAN interface (sold separately) required for firmware upload via CAN.
