The Thermal Map Sensor comes fully equipped with 3 temperature and 1 humidity sensors to help monitor and protect computer cabinets. This device provides users with an accurate image of their computer cabinet’s temperature and humidity, which helps control cooling and eliminate hotspots. The AKCess Pro Server software creates a visual representation of the computer cabinet to help locate hotspots. Once hotspots are located, it allows users to target where exactly in the cabinet cooling is needed, thus eliminated the costs of cooling. The sensor runs on very low power within any given server cabinet.
The sensorProbe2+ will automatically detect the Thermal Map Sensor once the user connects the RJ-45 jack to the sensor using the UTP CAT5e/6 cable. In order to get the most accurate readings, the thermal map should be installed at the inlet of the rack in order to accurately map the temperature at the base, middle, and top of the air inlet. An additional thermal map can be used at the air outlet of a cabinet to help monitor inlet and exhaust air temperatures at the bottom, middle, and top. The humidity sensor is located in the middle.
