The VPGate PROFIBUS DP to Serial Gateway easily connects any serial Modbus device to a PROFIBUS installation. No additional configuration tool is required. Simply provision this PROFIBUS Gateway via any existing PROFIBUS configuration management tool (e.g. Siemens STEP 7). The PROFIBUS installation views the gateway as a slave device and the gateway acts as a master or slave to the Modbus serial device.

Flexibility and ease of use are designed into the VPGate. Both RS232 and RS485 serial interfaces are supported as well as optional digital I/O and analog inputs. The PROFIBUS slave address of the gateway can be setup via a set of rotary switches. Enhanced diagnostic capabilities are provided via PROFIBUS and RS232 diagnostic connections.
