WLD sensing cable type A is a sensor for the detection of the presence of any conductive liquid. The liquid is detected along the entire length of the WLD sensing cable, which means that the extended area is monitored at once. The cable can be routed under the floors in data centers or along the walls, or can be wrapped around pipes. Even the smallest volume of conductive liquid (water, ethylene glycol) can trigger the alarm.
The sensing cable is the essential component of the WLD system; the cable needs a WLD device ( WLD2, SD-WLD, NB-WLD) or a WLD relay to work properly (all sold separately). A connection cable is used to connect the WLD device to the sensing cable. The "Add connection cable" option should be used if your setup does not already have this cable, such as setting up a new zone. A WLD prolong cable A (sold separately) can also be used to extend sensing cables past aisles or equipment that are not in danger of damage from water leaks. See diagram below.

WLD sensing cable is a long-term robust solution
- No bend limit allows sensing cables to be knotted and still work properly.
- No grip limit means water detection functionality is not limited by point pressure within a reasonable range. The cable can be stepped on or pressed and will not send false alarms. It can also be routed under the door threshold.
- No twist limit allows the sensing cable to be twisted as any other electrical cable.
- Easy installation as cable can be taped to floor, wrapped around pipes or attached to a wall.

- Once installed, WLD sensing cable does not generate false alarms.
- Micro movements caused by the movement of the surrounding cables do not cause false alarms.
