Build a fully sealed harness for your CANedge IP67 enclosure

The DTM06-12SA Connector Kit lets you build a custom 12-pin cable that keeps your CANedge installation IP67-rated from end-to-end. It mates with the 12-pin DTM connector on the IP67 enclosure kit for CANedge. You can then wire CAN, LIN, power, and ground straight into your vehicle or machine harness, with no DB9 connectors in the path.

When to choose the kit over the DB9 adapter cable

CSS Electronics offers two ways to connect to the IP67 enclosure:

  • DTM06-12SA Connector Kit (this product): Keeps the whole connection IP67-rated. This option is recommended for installations with long-term exposure to water or humidity.
  • DTM06-12SA-DB9/DB9 adapter cable: Allows you to plug in your existing CANedge DB9 adapter cables. Its DB9 connectors are not IP67-rated, so it is suited for dusty sites but not wet or humid ones, where the DB9 contacts can corrode.

What you can wire

The enclosure brings both CANedge channels out to one 12-pin connector. Your harness can carry:

  • 2 CAN channels (CAN1 and CAN2)
  • 2 LIN data lines, plus a LIN2 battery voltage (VBAT) reference
  • Supply voltage in and ground for both channels
  • A 5 V supply output for powering external modules

Use the kit if your installation will face water or high humidity over time. It keeps the whole connection IP67-rated. While the adapter cable is quicker to set up because it works with your existing DB9 cables, its DB9 connectors are not sealed.

What wire gauge does the kit support?

The kit includes 12 solder terminals sized for 18–16 AWG wire.

Do I need special tools to assemble the harness?

Wires will need to be soldered to the included terminals. The bootlip is designed to take heat-shrink tubing, so you will also need heat-shrink and a heat source to seal the cable exit.
