sensorProbe2+ LCD Modbus Pro: Include Power Supply

The AKCP sensorProbe2+ LCD Modbus Pro (SP2+LCD-MOD) is a 0U rack-mountable, network-connected environmental monitoring unit built for facilities that need to monitor physical conditions and third-party industrial equipment from a single device, on a single network connection, with sensor readings displayed directly on the unit without opening a browser.

All four RJ45 ports are active sensor ports that accept the complete AKCP Autosense range: temperature probes, combined temperature and humidity sensors, water rope leak detectors, thermal map sensors, door contacts, and more. Up to 9 sensors can be addressed per port, and up to 400 sensors can be monitored simultaneously, including virtual sensors. The Modbus RS485 interface replaces the dry contact input found on standard SP2+ variants, routing RS485 wiring through the dedicated three-pin terminal block on the side of the unit.

LCD display: local visibility, no login required.

The front-panel LCD shows live readings from all connected sensors alongside the unit's IP address and current threshold status. Warning and Critical states are displayed directly on screen, along with Lock OPEN / Lock CLOSED indicators for door contact sensors. The display cycles through connected sensor values automatically, so technicians working on-site have the data they need without a laptop.

Modbus RS485 port: connect industrial equipment directly.

The SP2+LCD-MOD replaces the standard dry contact input with a Modbus RS485 interface, letting you connect third-party industrial devices - generators, UPS units, power meters, HVAC controllers, environmental chambers - directly to the unit. Monitored register values surface as virtual sensors within the SP2+ web interface, alongside your AKCP sensor data, under a single management interface.

• Modbus RS485: Connect up to 4 third-party Modbus devices with up to 15 sensors each. The unit reads register values and maps them to virtual sensors.
• Modbus TCP/IP: Communicate with Modbus servers over your existing Ethernet network in parallel.

Note: The Modbus RS485 terminal block occupies the position of the dry contact input on standard SP2+ variants. Standard AKCP Autosense sensors connect to all four RJ45 ports as normal - the terminal block is for RS485 wiring only.

Pro license included.

The SP2+LCD-MOD ships with the Pro license pre-installed, activating all features required for Modbus RS485 integration: virtual sensors (5 included, expandable to 80 via license packs), IPv6, SNMP v3, VPN, RADIUS and TACACS authentication, sensor floor maps, heartbeat monitoring, cloud integration, and access control for up to 500 users. 

Power options.

• The SP2+LCD-MOD includes an external 5.5VDC 3A power adapter (100–240V AC input).
• The SP2+LCD-MOD-POE draws power from your existing PoE switch (IEEE 802.3af) - no power adapter is included or needed.
• An optional 5VDC external power supply is available separately for redundancy.

Browser-based access — no software required.

The SP2+LCD-MOD is fully accessible from any web browser: sensor dashboard, Modbus register mapping, configurable thresholds, alert rules, event log, and trend graphs are all built in. For centralized management across multiple AKCP devices, add Quicklime Sensor Monitoring Software. VPN support lets the SP2+LCD-MOD tunnel securely into Quicklime over any available network path.

What the Pro license adds

Compared to the Basic, the Pro license unlocks 5 virtual sensors (expandable to 80 via license packs), sensor floor maps, 3rd party Modbus device monitoring, IPv6, SNMP v3, VPN connectivity, access control for up to 500 users, RADIUS/TACACS authentication, heartbeat monitoring, and cloud integration with Quicklime Sensor Monitoring Software.
