The Instruments Panel Add-In for PCAN-Explorer 7 enables graphical display and manipulation of digital and analog CAN signals using configurable visual instruments and input controls.

Signals from received CAN messages can be displayed using a range of graphical elements, while integrated controllers make it possible to generate CAN messages directly from the panel. This supports use cases ranging from simple signal visualization to interactive test benches, simulations, and monitoring applications.

The panel layout is fully configurable. Visual elements such as gauges, shapes, and custom graphics can be freely positioned using drag-and-drop placement or precise numerical coordinates. Multiple elements can be selected and configured simultaneously, with detailed properties managed through a centralized property window.

Signal-dependent behavior allows panels to change dynamically during runtime. Image lists can be displayed based on signal values to create custom graphical instruments, with support for SVG image lists. Different panel layouts, or scenes, can also be shown automatically in response to signal conditions.

Input elements including potentiometers, switches, sliders, and input fields provide direct interaction with CAN traffic, enabling message generation and controlled signal manipulation. Complete panel configurations can be saved and reloaded, making it easy to reuse setups across projects or test scenarios.

For advanced workflows, the Instruments Panel object model supports automation through COM interfaces and scripting, allowing full control of panel behavior and interaction.
