The NetDirect Power Over Ethernet (PoE) is a self-powered serial to ethernet cable that converts your RS232, RS422, or RS485 port into a network PoE Ethernet port.
The NetDirect PoE Device Servicer is a small compact cable that allows you to simply convert your RS232, RS422 or RS485 device to an Ethernet port. This conversion allows you to put you devices on a network and have access to them over a wide range via the Internet or local Ethernet network. The NetDirect can be purchased in several different serial configurations. The serial port can be a DTE (male pins) or a DCE (female no pins). Included in the box is a breakout which allows you to wire in RS485 and RS422 into the DB9 Connector on the NetDirect.
As a Device Server, the NetDirect is a powerful cable converter that converts your serial port to an Ethernet Port. The NetDirect supports all the standard baud rates from 300 to 921.6K baud and the various data formats, 7 or 8 data bits, 1 or 2 stop bits, parity of none, even, odd, mark, hardware flow control using RTS/CTS signals or software control using XON/XOFF and modem controls signals DTR/DSR/DCD. The NetDirect has 1500 volts VAC of isolation the Ethernet port and 15KV of ESD protection on the serial port.
The NetDirect is fully tested for industrial and commercial environments and can operating in -40C to +70C temperatures. The NetDirect is UL, CE, RoHS, IEC, CSA , CAN and FCC approved for worldwide use.
The NetDirect is easily configured using an Install and COM port redirection software. The install program finds the NetDirect on the network and allows you to configure the port settings. The COM port director software allows you to convert a physical serial port on your PC to a virtual serial port to be used on a network.
