The PCAN-M.2 is a compact plug-in card that uses the M.2 interface (PCIe) to connect a single-board computer (SBC) or embedded PC to a CAN /CAN FD network. The card offers a galvanic isolation up to 300 Volts and is available as a single, dual, or four-channel.

The device includes PCAN-View software for monitoring and the PCAN-Basic API for development of custom applications.

The PCAN-M.2 supports the CAN FD (Flexible Data rate) standard with a higher bandwidth of 64 data bytes per CAN FD frame and bit rates up to 12Mbits/s. It can be used in existing CAN networks and is downward-compatible to the CAN 2.0 A/B standard. In this instance, the CAN FD extensions are not applicable.
