It will be on every wrist, imprinted into bike shorts and on cans of green beans; it will reside in every home, office, factory, hospital room, school desk, and tent worldwide. A new connected outlet that integrates with Apple HomeKit is now available for pre-order from Grid Connect. The ConnectSense Smart Outlet features two Internet-connected electrical sockets that enable users to control devices plugged into them using Siri on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Grid Connect (gridconnect.com), a manufacturer and distributor of embedded networking products, entered the rapidly-growing Internet of Things (IoT) industry with the launch of ConnectSense (connectsense.com), a line of wireless sensors to automate home and business. ConnectSense sensors will be showcased at Sensors Expo, Booth 517, June 24-26, in Rosemont, Ill.
As part of the long-term vision at Grid Connect, we included aspirations to help mentor young engineers in our community. When we heard about Team 3061 – Huskie Robotics at Naperville North High School (which I am an alumni of) we thought it was a great way for Grid Connect to give back.
As part of re-launching our website in March 2012, we worked with Gorilla here in Chicago to help come up with some new messaging to illustrate what Grid Connect is all about. We had a lot of discussions around what set Grid Connect apart from other companies in our industry, and out of that came our new slogan of “Real Humans, Expert Support.”
