Product Description
The WI232+ MB is the next generation of Wi-Fi to serial Modbus gateway servers. Besides new enhanced software features, there are the following capabilities.
- “Soft-AP” which makes getting the WI232+ configured and connected to a Wi-Fi network simple
- Factory reset push button (accessible with a pin or paperclip)
- Smaller form factor
The WI232+ is simple to configure using the Soft AP feature. When it is powered-up, the WI232 broadcasts an easy to recognize SSID. Simply join its WiFi Network with your smartphone, tablet or wireless PC, and a configuration webpage will display. This page is where you can set up the serial port, and provide the credentials for the WI232+ to join your WiFi network.
The WI232+ can be used to “tunnel” serial Modbus communication or to bridge between Modbus/TCP and Modbus serial protocols. The WI232+ converts a serial Modbus RTU/ASCII device into an Ethernet Modbus TCP device. All standard Modbus commands and messages are automatically converted. The limitations of a serial network are removed.
